Isabelle & Felicien

Instructors Biography

First of all, Isa & Félicien is a true love story !!! They both fell in love with dance many years ago… Isabelle has been dancing since she was six, from African dances to Gwo Ka, through Dancehall and Hip Hop. More recently, she was introduced to salsa. Felicien discovered couple dancing when he was 11 years old, starting with ballroom & swing dancing, then latin styles, west coast swing and Argentine tango, a few years later. The discovery of Kizomba brought them together ! They combined their musicality, their techniques and creativity to become one. They stand out because of their authenticity and their innovation, combining the basics of this Angolan dance and their own influences.

Ben & Ana

Instructors Biography

From the south of Portugal, guided by the dream of sharing this culture with the whole world, Ben & Ana leave their fans delighted with their dancing flair! Through their Kizomba and Latin Rhythms , this duo provides unforgettable moments in all places they showcase.  With 500,000 followers on Facebook, Ben Pedrosa & Ana Guerreiro are a source of inspiration for many lovers of these rhythms. In this festival,workshop and social events they promise to surprise everyone with good vibes and a special method of teaching. Ben Pedrosa Cardoso was latin ballroom champion in 1999, 2000, 2001.

Ronie Saleh

Instructor Biography

In 2013, Ronie was introduced to Kizomba and fell in love immediately, a love so strong that he left his profession as a Speech & Language Pathologist to dedicate his life to Kizomba & Foxtrot. Today, Ronie is one of the most requested Kizomba teachers in the world.

Ronie is known for his musicality skills and smooth Kizomba style, influenced by foxtrot. Even though he makes advanced footwork and choreographies, he still emphasizes the importance of the Connection, Feeling & Flow with the dance partner.

Tboy & Ashby

Instructors Biography

Brinca is the combination of dancers Tboy Péleve of Paris and Ashby of Virginia, USA.  
 
With their forces combined, they bring you high quality dancing, fresh new style, experience, technicality, unique teaching abilities and, most of all, FUN! 
 
Brinca has taught workshops in Paris, and Tboy has taught in festivals all over Europe before moving to the USA.

Shafeeha

Instructor Biography

Trinidadian decent, ​ Shafeeha Monae is an Afro-Rhythms instructor with a combined 26 years of dance experience from Modern, Bachata, Salsa, Afro Jazz and Dancehall. Over the last 7 years Shafeeha has pulled from her diverse dance background and extensive Semba and Kizomba training giving her Afro House and Ginga a unique flava!

Shafeeha's pedagogy has helped students on any level improve their breathing, foundation, connection & flow, musicality​ and ​ginga.

​Training with Angolans, PALOPS and other highly regarded international and national instructors has undoubtedly helped shape her creative teaching style and performances.

Audi MPK

Instructor Biography

Audi was born in USA and grew up in France & USA. He fell in love with UrbanKiz and Tarrax while studying  from renowned European instructors. His unique musicality and dance approach has ranked him among one of the top UrbanKiz instructors in North America.

Now located in Dallas, Texas, Audi's dedication to spread the knowledge and his love for UrbanKiz is undeniable. Audi branded himself as Audi Mpk which stands for (Musicality Personality Kizomba). 

Recently, Audi and Pam competed in Kizomba of Olympiads in Paris France and placed 2nd in Kizomba.

Jay & Andréa

Instructors Biography

Jay & Andréa are urban kiz artists based in Tampa, FL.  Jay resided in Europe and trained in Kizomba and urban kiz. Andréa’s background in hip-hop, yoga, bachata and Kizomba has influenced her style. Together, the duo’s European style and unique body movements sets them apart in the US Kizomba community.

Their teaching style is a blend of their various dance experiences providing fun and substantive instruction that will leave students fulfilled with new material to enhance their social dancing.

Davidson & Shani

Instructors Biography

Davidson and Shani (KizFlo) became dance partners in 2016 as their mutual love for sharing their Kizomba/UrbanKiz knowledge with the community. Their Kizomba style is influenced by their diverse background in dances such as Konpa, Bachata and Salsa as well as intense training and learning by Kizomba and Urban Kiz professionals. Davidson and Shani are known for their laid back but engaging class environment coupled with their ability to break down moves and techniques in ways their students can truly comprehend and able to execute in a social setting.

Eric & Julie

Instructors Biography

Julie has been a dancer her whole life. Julie has trained and competed in various forms of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, lyrical and hip hop. She started dancing salsa and bachata in 2006 and was an original member of Agape Dance Company. Julie started dancing kizomba in 2009 and currently is partnering with Eric Rurambo.
 
Eric grew up in Africa listening to Zouk and Kassav which gave him a strong understanding of the music. While in Geramy, he learned to dance Kizomba.  He has trained under many world renowned European instructors.  Eric moved to the USA to share his passion for Kizomba music and dance.

Phillyp Chanlatte

Instructor Biography

Phillyp’s journey into kizomba began in 2010, when he started attending local Cape Verde and Haitian clubs in the Boston and Rhode Island area.  Passada was the first dance attained. He as taught in major kizomba festivals such as Miami Beach Kizomba Festival, Tabanka Texas, Sawa Sawa and international events as well.   

In 2015 he competed in AfricaDancar USA with Illiana, later that year he and Galina Lipina placed 2nd in the 1st international semba competition in Lisbon, Portugal. 

In 2016 he performed along side Badoxa and opened up for C4 Pedro.

Tatiana Habanova

Instructor Biography

Tatiana discovered Kizomba in 2012 and fell in love with the music and dance. She started organizing weekenders and teacher trainings flying in international and USA instructors. A lover of knowledge coupled with a strong desire to create a Kizomba community, Tatiana began a path of intensive training with many world renown instructors, something she still continues to do today.  Tatiana began teaching Kizomba locally and at various Congresses, and her love for teaching blended with her effective way of breaking down techniques in a fun engaging style continues to make Tatiana a favorite among her students.

Known as one of the Kizomba pioneers, Tatiana continues to grow and support the local Kizomba communities within Florida and USA by organizing events and collaborating with others. Seeing the joy people experience as they dance Kizomba brings a gratifying smile to never give up what you love.

DJ Carlos King

DJ Biography

Music is his passion!

Born in 1978 in Lisbon, Portugal, of Mozambican origin, Carlos King always had curiosity and passion for music. At 8 years of age, he began studying music and learned to play several instruments (trumpet, saxophone, flute, percussion and guitar).

For the past 15 years,  Carlos has traveled the world as a International DJ sharing his passion for music. With a very extensive international curriculum, Carlos King perfectly combines pure Kizomba with the latest Ghetto Zouk, Kuduro and Afro-House mixed with Coupe-Decale and the great Semba.

This will make African music lovers delighted until dawn in all the rhythms of the African World!

DJ RADIKAL

DJ Biography

DJ Radikal, was born in Paris with Portuguese origin, and discovered Hip Hop in 1984 and became very interested in the explosion of American rap and the birth of French rap in 1988.  In 1997 he moved to Algrave, Portugal, where he became a rap producer and sound engineer and built a recording studio and recorded 3 rock albums. At his time DJ Radikal also starts attending African discotheques discovering Kizomba, Funana, Kuduro and Semba.  In 2013 he returned to live in France as a Kizomba DJ and started launching incredible Kizomba remixes. Today he is know all over the world and is one of the most sought after DJs.

Jofe has had the honor to DJ at all major events of the Angolan community in Washington, D.C. He has also been invited to DJ in Boston, Chicago, New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, York, Connecticut, Miami, Orlando, Houston, and Omaha.

Jofe has also hosted parties in D.C. for Angolans, Brazilians, Cape Verdeans, Guineans, and Zouk and Kompa lovers. His music library spans across different genres and he has the exceptional ability to mix in and out of salsa, rumba, Merengue, Samba, Pagode, Bachata, Hip Hop, Reggae, House, Techno, Funana, Kizomba, Zouk, Kompa, Kuduro, and Rock, introducing an entirely new demographic to quality dance music.

DJ Biography

A familiar face in the congress and festival dance scene, DJ Harvey (aka Harv da Marv) from Dreamsounds DJs has over 18 years experience as a DJ. He has been collaborating with many known event organizers, promoters, and DJs to bring a unique and energetic blend of Kizomba, Bachata, and Salsa to the dance community. As a Kizomba DJ he has performed in many prestigious dance congresses and festivals including Seattle, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta and the Dominican Republic.  His deep appreciation for quality music that moves the crowd gives him a unique perspective on mixing the best selection under the Kizomba umbrella (Kizomba, Zouk, Cabo Zouk, Kompa, Afro House, Kuduro)

Being fluent in French, Portuguese, Spanish, Kreyol, in addition to English gives him a great international perspective on Kizomba music and culture.  His goal in the last few years has been to expand the beautiful music and dance of Kizomba in Florida and the rest of the US by working with festival organizers, instructors and dance studio owners to host weekly, monthly and yearly quality Kizomba events.

DJ Joao Marcal

DJ Biography

While living in Portugal, Lisbon, João was a DJ for a local radio station and various local summer festivities.

Upon moving to USA in 2014 he began promoting and teaching Kizomba with his wife (Tatiana). He started DJing again at major dance festivals such as Unity Dance Festival, Orlando International Kizomba Festival and Orlando Salsa Congress in 2016.

He is a regular DJ Kizomba, Zouk, Semba, Bachata, Salsa, and more at various local dance socials/parties.
